In the winery, the focus is on small lot indigenous yeast fermentation with extended cold soaks to extract a rich, fruit-focused textured mouth feel. Each lot is treated individually and depending on the outcome, either blended into a reserve quality Willamette Valley Pinot Noir or bottled separately as a vineyard designate.

Wine Spectator

Light and silky, brimming with gorgeous plum and blueberry fruit, hinting at cream, white tea and talcum as the finish lingers elegantly and intensely. Drink now through 2019.

Score: 93. —Harvey Steiman, October 15, 2011.

Wine Advocate

The 2009 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard shows the expressive aromatics of this grand cru site. Exotic spices, sandalwood, incense, cassis, and black cherry notes compose the bouquet of this deep, structured, lengthy offering. It will provide enjoyment for another decade.

Score: 92. —Jay Miller, October 2011.
